Twins recall Rosario from AAA Rochester; designate Jepsen

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have recalled outfielder Eddie Rosario from Triple-A Rochester. Rosario hit .319 (51-for-160) with 14 doubles, seven home runs and 25 RBI in 41 games for the Red Wings. Rosario appeared in 32 games with the Twins earlier this season, hitting .200 (23-for-115) with four doubles, three home runs and nine RBI.
To make room for Rosario on the 25-man roster, the Twins have designated right-handed pitcher Kevin Jepsenfor release or assignment. Jepsen appeared in 33 games for the Twins this season, going 2-5 with a 6.16 ERA (30.2 IP, 21 ER).
