Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins received word this morning that their bid placed earlier this week for 29-year old Korean first baseman Byung Ho Park was the highest bid, and that is has been accepted by the Nexen Heroes of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The Twins and Park’s representative will now have an exclusive negotiating window of 30 days to reach agreement on a contract. In the interim, Park remains under control of the Nexen Heroes. Out of respect for the Korean team and the player, the Twins do not plan any further comment at this time.
