Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today the signing of their first round pick, infielder Keoni Cavaco from Eastlake High School in Chula Vista, CA, whom they selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2019 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft.
Cavaco, who turned 18 years old on June 2, just completed his high school career at Eastlake High School. At 6-foot-1, 180-pounds, Cavaco becomes the first player from Eastlake High School to be drafted in the first round of the First-Year Player Draft since Adrián González was the first overall pick by the Florida Marlins in 2000.
