Twins send slumping Sano to Class A Ft. Myers

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have optioned infielder Miguel Sanó to Single-A Ft. Myers and outfielder Jake Caveto Triple-A Rochester.

Sanó has played in 37 games for the Twins this season, hitting .203 (30-for-148) with nine doubles, seven home runs, 27 RBI, 14 walks and 66 strikeouts. Cave, who was recalled last week, played in three games recently with the Twins hitting .300 (3-for-10) with one home run and three RBI.
To replace Sanó and Cave on the 25-man roster, the Twins will make corresponding roster moves prior to tomorrow night’s game in Cleveland.
