Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they will reinstate infielder/outfielder Danny Santana from the 15-day disabled list and recall right-handed pitcher Alex Meyer from Triple-A Rochester prior to tonight’s game against Cleveland.

To make room for Santana and Meyer on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned Byron Buxton and Max Kepler to Triple-A Rochester. Buxton has hit just .156 through the first three weeks of the season, a continuation of his struggles from 2015.
Santana has missed the Twins last 14 games with a right hamstring strain, an injury he suffered fielding a fly ball on April 9 at Kansas City. Meyer made three appearances (2 starts) for the Red Wings, going 1-1 with a 1.04 ERA (17.1 IP, 2 ER), four walks and 19 strikeouts.
