Twins reinstate Ricky Nolasco

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated right-handed pitcher Ricky Nolasco from the 60-day disabled list. In addition, the Twins have placed left-handed pitcher Logan Darnell on the 60-day disabled list with pneumonia.

Nolasco missed 103 games with a right ankle impingement.  He suffered the injury on his start May 31 vs. Toronto in the second inning. Nolasco has made seven starts for the Twins this season, going 5-1, 5.51 ERA (32.2 IP, 20 ER) with 10 walks and 28 strikeouts.

Darnell, who was recalled September 4, appeared in 35 games (7 starts) for the Red Wings this season going 5-1 with a 2.78 ERA (77.2 IP, 24 ER), 66 strikeouts and 25 walks.  He moved to the Triple-A rotation on August 13 and posted a 0.82 ERA (32.2 IP, 3 ER) over his final five starts.  He did not make an appearance for the Twins.
