Twins recall Romero from Rochester; send out Curtis

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will recalled right-handed pitcher Fernando Romero from Triple-A Rochester, who will make the start tomorrow afternoon against Toronto. The 23-year old appeared in four games (3 starts) for Triple-A Rochester, going 0-1 with a 2.57 ERA (21.0 IP, 6 ER), 10 walks and 20 strikeouts.
In parts of six seasons in the Twins minor league system, Romero has gone 23-17 with a 2.83 ERA (324.1 IP, 102 ER), 102 walks and 314 strikeouts. Entering this season, Romero was ranked sixth best prospect in the Twins system by Baseball America, fourth best by MLB.com and third best by Baseball Prospectus.
The 2017 Southern League Midseason All-Star went 11-9 last season with a 3.53 ERA (125.0 IP, 49 ER), 45 walks and 120 strikeouts in 24 games (23 starts).
Curtiss appeared in two games for the Twins, allowing three runs on two hits in 0.2 innings pitched.
