Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have reinstated third baseman Josh Donaldson from the 10-day Injured List.

Donaldson, who missed the club’s last 30 games with a right calf strain, appeared in seven games this season, hitting .182 (4-for-22) with one home run, two RBI, four runs scored, four walks, a .296 on-base percentage and a .614 OPS. The 2019 National League Comeback Player of the Year signed a four-year contract with the Twins this offseason after hitting .259 (142-for-549) with 33 doubles, 37 home runs, 94 RBI, 96 runs scored, 100 walks and a .900 OPS in 155 games for the Atlanta Braves last season.

To make room on the 28-man roster, the Twins have designated infielder Ildemaro Vargas for release or assignment. Vargas, who was acquired via trade with Arizona on August 11, appeared in 10 games for the Twins, hitting .227 (5-for-22) with one double, one triple, two RBI and one walk.
