NEW for 2021: MN Score Radio show going daily

New Drive-Time Sports Talk Coming to Twin Cities Radio

Minneapolis, MN (December 30, 2020) Minnesota Score Magazine and Radio announced today the launch of a daily sports talk radio show with hosts Eric Nelson and Wally Langfellow beginning Monday January 4th at 5pm on AM 1440-KYCR in the Twin Cities. “Ten Thousand Takes” will air Monday through Friday from 5pm til 6pm and Saturdays at Noon on AM 1440.

The new daily “Ten Thousand Takes” program will feature the top athletes and sports figures in Minnesota including current and former Vikings, Twins, Gophers, Wild and Timberwolves players and coaches as regular guests. With a combined 70-plus years in the sports media business, Eric and Wally bring their unique sports backgrounds to this entertaining, fast paced show. During Vikings’ season, the show will feature regular segments with former Vikings’ great Chuck Foreman. Former Gopher wide receiver and current entertainment and sports attorney Lee Hutton will also make regular appearances.

Eric and Wally have been co-hosting Minnesota Score Radio since 2002, airing primarily on weekends. They worked together previously at Hubbard Broadcasting’s All News Channel. Some of their noted guests on Minnesota Score Radio over the past year included: Anthony Barr, Justin Morneau, Torii Hunter, Adam Thielen, Anthony Harris, Chuck Foreman, Karl Anthony Towns, Zach Parise, Joe Nathan, Kenny Albert, Aaron Judge, Larry Fitzgerald, Brett Larson Glen Taylor, Danielle Hunter, Reggie Jackson, Darrell Thompson, Ryan Saunders,Troy Aikman, Al Michaels, Bert Blyleven, Rahim Moestart, Xavier Rhodes, Mike Veeck and many others.

Ten Thousand Takes will also be available daily via podcast on Sound Cloud and is also streaming each day on the I-Heart Radio App, at Radio.com and at MinnesotaScore.com. In addition to AM 1440-KYCR, Minnesota Score Radio also airs weekends on KNSI-AM/FM St.Cloud, MN and KWSN-AM/FM Sioux Falls, SD.

The Hosts

Eric Nelson has been a sportscaster for WCCO Radio and Television in the Twin Cities, and wrote a sports/travel book titled, Slices of the NFL. Eric’s “Sports Nuggets” column has appeared in every issue of Minnesota Score Magazine since its inception in 2002. Eric likes to play flag football in the elements, bring his boys to sporting events and travel. Eric grew up in the sun, surf and smog of Southern California, but has become acclimated to Minnesota’s theater of seasons, and wishes the Vikings still played games in the snow.

Wally Langfellow is the owner/publisher of Minnesota Score Magazine which he started with his wife Dawn in 2002. He also broadcasts high school sports year ‘round on AM 1440. In addition to his 12 years as a sports anchor at All News Channel, Wally also was the between periods TV host for Minnesota North Stars hockey in the late ‘80s. A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Wally still clings to the hopes of a Browns Super Bowl Championship and an Indians World Series title.
