Gopher offense stumbles, defense shines in 10-7 win over Kent State

In a game where odds makers had them picked as a 24 point favorite, the Minnesota Gophers barely escaped with a victory at home on Saturday as they edged Kent State 10-7. The win moved Minnesota to 2-and-1 on the season, but was the closest Kent State has ever come against a Big Ten opponent. Next week the Gophers host another Mid American Conference team as Ohio University comes to TCF Bank Stadium.
