#1 St.Cloud State knocks off #3 Denver; clinches NCHC title

Top ranked St. Cloud State’s men’s hockey team knocked off the third ranked University of Denver  4-2 Saturday night in St.Cloud to claim National Collegiate Hockey Conference regular season title.

Ryan Poehling scored on a breakaway late in the third period to snap a 2-2 tie and freshman goaltender David Hrenak stopped 31 of 33 shots to lift the Huskies to their 21st in of the season against just six losses and 5 ties.

St. Cloud closes out the regular season next weekend at North Dakota.
