Vikings win opener

New Minnesota Vikings head coach Brad Childress made a successful debut on Monday night as his Vikings went into Washington D.C. and beat the Redskins 19-16. Ryan Longwell's 31 yard field goal with 1:00 to go was the difference. Vikings quarterback Brad Johnson threw for one touchdown, a 20-yarder in the third quarter that gave the Vikings a 16-13 lead.
