Vikings into post season despite loss at Washington

preview:
For the 3rd time this season, the Minnesota Vikings and Green Bay Packers will meet. Their first round playoff game on Sunday will mark the first time in the history of this storied rivalry that these two teams will meet in the post season. Green Bay holds an edge in the all-time series 44-42, with one game ending in a tie. The Packers won the first two meetings this year, both by identical 34-31 scores. Both games ended with Green Bay's Ryan Longwell hitting a game winning field goal as time expired.

Minnesota made the playoffs despite losing their regular season finale to Washington 21-18. The Vikings got in as the final wild card team thanks to a Carolina loss to New Orleans. Green Bay clinched the division title in Minneapolis with their Christmas Eve victory over the Vikings. The Packers also beat the Vikings at Lambeau Field back on November 14 (click here for more on that game). Daunte Culpepper, who threw 39 touchdown passes during the regular season, had two in Sunday's loss to the Redskins. Defensive back Corey Chavous, who played in the Pro Bowl last year, will not play for the rest of the season after breaking a bone in his elbow Sunday against Washington.
