Vikings fall to Packers 34-31; lose 3rd straight
After running out to a 5 and 1 start, the Minnesota Vikings are experiencing deja vu circa 2003. Sunday (November 14) the Vikes lost 34-31 to the Packers to drop their record to 5 and 4. The loss also dropped them into a first place tie with the surging Packers. Daunte Culpepper and Brett Favre each threw 4 touchdown passes in the game. Ryan Longwell hit a 32 yard field goal for the Packers as time expired to snap a 31-31 tie. Minnesota had trailed 31-17 before two late 4th quarter touchdowns tied the game. Moe Williams scored the tying touchdown for Minnesota with 1:20 to go. But a long kickoff return to near midfield, set the Packers up for the game winning drive. The two teams will meet again in Minneapolis, the day before Christmas.
