Gophers beat Northwestern; go to 4-and-0
The 19th-ranked Gophers remain undefeated with a 43-17 victory Saturday (September 25) in the Big Ten opener before a crowd of 44,657 at the Metrodome. Laurence Maroney rushed for 145 yards and one touchdown, and redshirt freshman Justin Valentine scored three short touchdowns. Minnesota is now 4-and-0 overall, and 1-and-0 in the Big Ten.
