Humphries draft by Utah Jazz

With another high school player going number one, and high schoolers dominating the first round of this year's NBA draft, Kris Humphries one year in the Big Ten made him an easy choice for the Utah Jazz. Picking 14th, the Jazz used their lottery pick on the former Hopkins High School star who played his one year of college basketball for Dan Monson at the University of Minnesota. Humphries was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year this past season and led the conference in scoring and rebounding. Humphries called the chance to play for coach Jerry Sloan a "great opportunity." The Jazz just missed making the playoffs this year as they were edged out of the final spot by Denver in the closing days of the season. Humphries averaged over 21 points and 10 rebounds per game for the Gophers on the season.
