Girls State Basketball
The Hopkins Royals are this years girls state basketball champions in class 4A. The Royals beat Lakeville in the state championship game 63-45. Hopkins was led by senior forward Leslie Knight who scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. In class 3A, the Polars of Minneapolis North successfully defended their state championship, taking out Willmar in the title game 56-39. It was the Polars 4th state championship. Wabasso won the Class A title, while the 2A championship went to Wabasso.
