U of M vs UMD Grant Potluny, who scored the game winning goal two years ago to help Minnesota to the 2002 NCAA Championship, did it again. This time against North Dakota in the Saturday (March 20) Final Five title game. Potulny's goal at 13:58 of the the 3rd period gave Minnesota back to back WCHA Final Five titles, the first team to win consecutive titles since Minnesota did it in 1993-94. Minnesota's 7-4 win in the semi-finals on Friday over UMD assured them of a number one seed in the NCAA tournament. The Gophers are two-time defending national champions. Photos by Tom Dahlin
