Matt "The Predator" Vanda (black trunks) won a controversial 10-round split decision over Sam Garr Friday (January 16th) at the Minneapolis Convention Center. Vanda, a junior middleweight, upped his career professional record to 30-and-0. The bout, which was nationally televised on ESPN2, paid Vanda $25,000 for the win. The judges scored the fight 97-95 Vanda, 97-93 Vanda and 97-95 Garr. Photos by Tom Dahlin.
